Huxtable Farm Meals
Devon Cream Tea Welcome; Jackie & Antony look forward to welcoming you with one of their special Devon Cream Teas (home-made scones, jam local clotted cream and a choice of fine teas) served during summer in the garden and during the cooler months in the comfort of the drawing room, in front of a crackling log fire.
Breakfast; Start your day with a hearty breakfast served in the beamed, medieval dining room with the warmth of the log fire around the large farmhouse table.
Help yourself from the buffet table to the selection of cereals, muesli, fruit juices, home-made fruit compote, fresh fruit and yoghurts.
Follow this with a traditional English breakfast, cooked fresh to order, using only the best of local and farm produce.
Our large fruit garden supplies the breakfast table with home-made jams to accompany warm buttery croissants and toast from our home-made bread, marmalade and local honey.
With a selection of various hot and cold drinks to choose from and our knowlegde of the area, we hope to set you up for day to follow.
Special dietary requirments - If you have any special dietary requirements (including allergies, intolerances or are vegetarian) or want to know about our ingredients please bring these to our attention and we will try to accommodate your needs.

Packed lunches; Packed lunches and flask top-ups are readily available upon request BYO PICNIC; Your welcome to bring back your own picnic and wine to Huxtable Farm. A fridge is available for your use as is crockery, cutlery & glasses by prior arrangement. For party bookings of 10 or more (sleeps 12 adults and 5 children) we are happy to book Huxtable Farm exclusively for your use. Huxtable Farm is perfect for a party booking to celebrate a family birthday, anniversary or a get together of friends. Nothing is too much trouble to make your stay at Huxtable Farm, as enjoyable and memorable as possible, please telephone to discuss your celebration in more detail. Tel 01598 760254 You have exclusive use of the comfortable drawing room with its log burning fireplace for cosy evenings in and the garden on warm summer evenings, where you can catch up with each other or play games. If celebrating a special anniversary or birthday we are happy to discuss provision of a cake, flowers and/or entertainment hire!
There is so much to do, from sporting activities such as surfing, coasteering and other beach activities, playing golf, cycling, horse riding & walking to visiting family attractions, National Trust Properties, gardens and enjoyng great restaurants. With their knowledge and numerous books, maps and leaflets on the area do let Jackie & Antony help you plan your stay. Evening meals can be arranged for party bookings (for 8 or more adults) and you can bring your own wine/alcohol (BYO); The evening meal is special at Huxtable Farm...end your day, relaxing in the beamed, medieval dining room over an imaginative four course candle-lit dinner, freshly prepared from local, fair-trade and Huxtable Farm produce. To accompany your dinner are home-made bread rolls you are welcome to bring your own wine (BYO). Choose from a selection of home-made starters and after your main course help yourself to the delicious home-made sweets, accompanied by a generous helping of Devon clotted cream. Sample the varied selection of Devonian cheeses and then relax in the drawing room with a hot coffee and a piece of home-made fudge. Price £30 per person.
All the food is home-made using, when possible, our own farm reared lamb, eggs and food for free from around the farm, such as hazelnuts, blackberries, nettles, elderberries, elderflowers, rosehips, sloes, wild mushrooms etc. The large fruit garden supplies the breakfast table with home-made jams, and the evening meal with delicious fruit sweets. The home grown and locally produced vegtables are full of flavour, whilst the country kitchen herb garden is used to enhance the flavour of many dishes. Packed lunches can be provided upon request at £9 each Buy local policy - Support, use and promote local produce, food, drink & crafts It is the policy at Huxtable Farm to buy from local sources wherever possible. This applies not only to food and drink, but building materials, printing, stationary and other general supplies. By using local companies and producers we are supporting the local market which will in turn benefit our business by creating a sustainable local economy. Plus it reduces the miles that these goods will have traveled to reach us, therefore reducing the associated carbon emissions. Here at Huxtable Farm we buy local produce, use our own lamb and eggs, grow our own fruit, vegetables & herbs, make homemade bread and preserves and use food for free from the land e.g. elderflowers and mushrooms.
